The project
OnlyOne has positioned itself as one of France’s first positive impact “neobanks“, offering retail customers a payment service with a high environmental impact. In partnership with Treezor, the French fintech has launched the first eco-responsible card made from over 85% recycled PVC, in line with the principles of the circular economy.
The challenges for OnlyOne
OnlyOne chose Treezor for a number of reasons. Firstly, Treezor offers OnlyOne’s end-customers a French IBAN, as well as virtual and physical payment cards (in recycled PVC), thus meeting the specific needs of the “neobank”. By using Treezor’s BaaS (Banking-as-a-Service) model, OnlyOne is able to accelerate the integration of financial services into its customers’ transactions, while complying with current regulations.
The deployed solution
OnlyOne benefits from white-label payment services under the responsibility of Treezor, a licensed Electronic Money Establishment since 2016. As a result, OnlyOne becomes a “Payment Service Provider Agent” registered with the ACPR, the French banking regulator.
Thanks to its partnership with Treezor, OnlyOne offers its customers various services including a bank card personalized with its colors, a payment account with a French IBAN, the possibility of making payments (transfers and direct debits) via a mobile, etc.
OnlyOne provides its customers with an additional service to measure the carbon footprint associated with each expenditure made. The data collected using Treezor’s embedded finance module enables OnlyOne to analyze and communicate to its customers the carbon footprint of their purchases, via an Environmental Impact Score. OnlyOne can thus offer personalized advice and suggest consumption alternatives to its users in order to reduce their carbon footprint.
